In the Early Childhood Education program, students can be
taught how infants and young children develop and why they
behave (or misbehave) as they do; They can also be taught
how to develop programs that will effectively stimulate the
emotional, physical, intellectual, and social growth of those
in their care. The business portion of the program is designed
to prepare students to manage employees, learn about operating
budgets, and establish relationships with parents and community
resources. The student teaching at the end of the program
can provide practical experience in the early childhood education
field.

The Massage Therapy curriculum is designed to provide the
student with knowledge in the areas of anatomy & physiology,
medical terminology, professional ethics, and massage therapy
techniques, such as Swedish massage and advanced deep muscle
therapy. It is designed to provide a solid foundation for
a career as a massage therapist. It can also teach students
how to promote themselves and the massage profession and how
to have a caring attitude for their clients.


In this program, students are introduced to the complete accounting
cycle, financial statements, taxes and payroll, financial
investments, management and marketing, and computerized accounting.
The program emphasizes the positions such as junior accountant,
accounts payable/receivable clerk, bookkeeper, payroll clerk,
or administrative assistant. Upon successful completion of
the program, an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in
Accounting will be awarded.

The objective of the Criminal Justice program is to prepare
students for a career in a variety of local, state, and federal
jobs. Specifically, the jobs for which this program could
prepare students are corrections officers, probation officers,
security officers, local, county, and state police officers,
guards at prisons, campus police, private investigators, juvenile
services officers, drug task officers, criminal justice social
workers, and loss prevention managers, to name a few. * Additional
education and/or experience may be needed for some positions.

The Fashion Merchandising program is designed to prepare students
for entry-level positions in the fashion merchandising and
retail industries. Business, marketing, management, and sales
principles used within the fashion industry are presented
as a means of developing concepts and refining merchandising
skills. Our curriculum can develop competent multitasking
skills, integrating conceptual and creative abilities with
technical and sound business practices that can prepare our
students for successful professional careers in the fashion
industry.

In this program students are introduced to the world of hospitality
and tourism, with an emphasis on management. Specialized skills
needed in the hospitality and tourism industry are introduced
through coursework and an internship course at a local business.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are qualified
to assume entry-level positions in the hospitality industry
and tourism field. Students are awarded an Associate in Specialized
Business Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Business administrators are today's leaders. With training
in the critical areas of management and marketing, students
can become equipped to make wise management decisions and
participate in effective business operations. Students are
introduced to accounting, computer applications, sales, and
communication skills. Upon the successful completion of this
program, graduates may assume entry-level positions in business,
banking, insurance, finance, and government and may obtain
jobs such as management trainee, marketing assistant, sales
representative, store manager, or account representative.
Upon successful completion of this program, an Associate in
Specialized Business Degree in Management/Marketing is awarded.

This program can provide the knowledge and skills that enable
students to assume responsible positions as members of the
health care team in a physician's office, hospital, clinic,
or related business. Students are encouraged to obtain proficiency
in office skills and a background in medical terminology and
procedures that can prepare them for entry-level positions
such as medical secretary, medical office assistant, medical
claims processor, medical claims examiner, or insurance assistant.
The internship program gives students practical experience
in the health care field. Successful completion of this program
is acknowledged with the awarding of an Associate in Specialized
Business Degree.

The overall objective of the Paralegal Studies program is
to prepare students for a career in the legal sector doing
much of the work involved in closings, hearings, trials, and
corporate meetings, in the business sector helping with employee
contracts, in the government sector analyzing legal material,
conducting research, collecting evidence, writing memoranda,
and preparing informative material for an agency or the public.
Typical job opportunities for graduates of this program are
trust coordinators, title searchers, settlement clerks, litigation
specialists, legal assistants, and paralegals. They can find
employment in law offices, government agencies, and businesses.
Upon graduation from the Paralegal Studies program, students
will be awarded an Associate in Specialized Business Degree.

It takes more than just imagination to be a quality graphic
designer. Today's designers must keep up with computer applications
and software, understand current marketing principles and
trends, as well as develop design concepts. Allentown Business
School knows you need skills beyond conceptual designs to
keep your edge in a competitive market. The Visual Communications
curriculum is designed to give you those skills. The students
will be exposed to the important elements of graphic design,
while being encouraged to develop conceptual and artistic
talents, as well as interpersonal and communication skills,
philosophies, and a comprehension of contemporary problems
and issues. The program includes classes in multimedia and
animation. Upon graduation from the Visual Communications
program, students will be awarded an Associate in Specialized
Technology Degree, and have the knowledge and skill necessary
to begin entry-level positions at advertising agencies, design
studios, corporate art departments, publishing houses, newspapers,
record companies, or as a freelance graphic designer.
